Westminster debate on ME

Here is the parliamentary debate from Feb 2. Ian Swales was a star, Paul Burstow was underwhelming, to say the least. Good commentary on MEA thread. Swales is an example of an MP who has listened, really listened. Burstow, on the other hand, seems not to know which camp his foot is in - biomedical or psychosocial. He made the fatal error of assuring us that 'CFS/ME' is the WHO's chosen label for ME. Dearie, dearie me. He spectacularly missed the whole point and only added to the obfuscation (see G93.3).

I am trying to take a backseat from ME commentary this month, I am so weary - and bored - but this debate needs to be blogged.

Interesting but I feel like you atm...bored, bored, bored. Sick of hearing about it and sick of trying...one of those spells where I'd rather just try and get on with things and pretend theres nothing wrong.

Thanks for posting this link, probably wouldn't have even known it had happened otherwise, lol.

Finally got around to watching it, and I guess my feelings are mixed. I'm so glad to know that there are MP's really listening to their constituents, and doing what they can about the situation. But tired of the spin by people who a) don't really know what they're talking about and b) want everyone to think the government is perfect and everything is on the right track.
