Sorry

The Daily Mail recently had a ludicrous poll: Do you think ME is a genuine illness? I was, of course, furious, but the DM is always offending someone, and my instinct was to rise above it. (After 25 years of battling this illness, you get a little tired and learn to turn the other cheek, who cares what DM readers think anyway, do they have a say in biomedical research, I don't think so.) Happily, some people did complain and the poll was removed and an apology issued. This was reported in the Nursing Times, in a column, Beyond the Bedpan. In my view, the columnist did a positive thing, pointing out the crassness of the poll, but some comments have suggested he did not do enough.

Hey M, I didn't - it's almost not worth taking seriously, so ridiculous to read this kind of nonsense in 2010, but good it was taken down.
