‘Can there exist, in principle, a proper beginning to any story at all? Isn’t there always, without exception, a latent beginning-before-the-beginning?’

Those corrections...
Forty seconds into The Review Show Jonathan Franzen realised there were errors in the UK edition of his new novel. I'd be furious too but 80 000 books being pulped makes me want to cry.
It felt a little like an execution, reading about all those books killed, but I can see it was completely necessary. I loved The Corrections and will either join the hefty library queue for the corrected Freedom or wait and get it in PB!
Bloody hell that makes me panic a bit, I mean how short sighted is he? I would pretty much need a guide dog without my specs, not being able to wear my contacts just now especially makes me extra dependent on them.

I watched that also nasim, made me think i'd have probably wanted to do the same. Interested to read the book now and see what all the fuss is about.
What a mess. I hope the pulp is re-cycled. Pulp becomes--what? Please imagine. Be as fanciful as you like, dear Nasim.

My eyes aren't that bad, but, still, I hate going to the loo middle of the night.
