Lovely launch

It is too late for details, but the launch was fan-bloody-tastic.

Everything I hoped for, and more.

I can concur! It was great and well deserved! You were great in the role of witty, self-effacing author and the audience appreciated it all!

It was great. I'll post up details at lunchtime. You were every inch the bonne vivante author, easily holding the crowd.

Though fancy not knowing which Hollywood actress would play NMJ in: The State of Me, The Movie, such a beginners mistake, lol! You even forgot to deny that Helen is you (again).

Great! I would have been there (and it would have been nice to meet you) but I had a work-related meeting I couldn't get out of. However, I was impressed to see your book piled up in the Waterstones shop window - and with a 3 for 2 sticker...

I plan to read it once I've finished Don DeLillo's 'Fallen Man', which I'm halfway through.

ps. bobo, you are cheeky - i was so tired by this point i was actually trying to remember what helen looks like, she has green eyes & brown hair, but i just couldn't think! this quest. came from a friend, and he tricked me by saying 'who is goin to play you?', yup, i fell for it! not a scrap of denial.

Funny, I was wondering about movie rights too. Any offers yet?

no, darren, not that i am aware of, no offers... someone today suggested kiera knightley (sp?) for helen, but Keira is 1.too beautiful and 2. i don't really enjoy her acting. i see helen as sexy but not so 'perfect' as keira... i can imagine a quirky, earthy actress playing helen, but no idea who... maybe a 20-something emily watson or a scottish charlotte gainsbourg.
